The analysis has already begun. The talking heads are already speaking about how important gestures and make-up are going to be, referring back to Nixon’s pasty-faced debacle with Kennedy. I hope that anyone who is going to vote isn’t that, well, retarded. I also hope for substance over style tonight. With all that’s going on, I think we deserve that much, we’ve already had enough smoke blown up our asses. If I hear one pundit mention the color of ties or rolled up sleeves, I think they ought to be sacked by whoever their boss happens to be.

Chip Reid – CBS… Fire him, he came on to tell us McCain’s pre-debate meal. Shame on you CBS.

Taking a shot everytime they say “Main Street”. I’m gonna be blitzed.

Was waiting and waiting — finally the “V for Vendatta” routine kicks off.

Oh, no, the pedal smashers are now on, except this year they have a “joystick”. I doubt very many switched their affiliations tonight.

Maybe the most telling thing about the debate is who is missing among the spin doctors in the aftermath. Palin is dodging reporters.

Breaking news…

Some kid in Aurora, named after a Star Trek character, got suspended for refusing to take off a crappily handmade t-shirt that says “Obama, a terrorist’s best friend.” It’s not going to work this election (that’s for you, Star Trek character’s dad). I say let him wear the shirt, really, who cares? Every time this kid and his family open their mouths, it moves people further and further away from their agenda.

After pulling the creepy Gates and Seinfeld ads, Microsoft apparently has a new “I’m a PC.” campaign (via Macrumors). Towards the end, they show an astronaut proudly saying “I’m a PC.”

What they forget to mention is this: Computer viruses make it to orbit

Woot! The Jayhawks Hollywood Town Hall was released as an MP3 album on Amazon this week!

I went out my back door today and noticed a wasp nest forming on the screen door. I’d seen the wasps before, but had no idea where their lair was. My first instinct was to take a broom and knock them down… Bad idea. I beat a quick retreat. What exactly is the correct procedure for removing a wasp nest?

I don’t have any pesticide laying around, so I checked for what I did have. The only thing I had that looked promising was a can of C02. I was crafty and snuck up on the nest, inverted the can, and hosed it down. Instant waspsicles. Problem solved.

I downloaded the beta earlier and popped it on the mini to see how well it worked. Well, it worked so well that I ran out and picked up a Macbook Pro. I hated cluttering up the G4 with endless development configurations, and now I really don’t have to worry about it. I spent a good part of the day compiling postgres and dependencies before the lightbulb (dim as it was) went off.

I’ve got a nice little DB server running on Ubuntu in Fusion.  Now, for a feature request. Since I’m sure I’ll be swapping test server configs with different folks, how about some kind of versioning for Fusion/Workstation VM’s? I haven’t looked for it yet, so maybe it is out there, but if it’s not — please please?

I think I must’ve had the quickest turnarounds ever at the emissions place and the DMV. Another stop at Mocha Motive as well. The caramel roll — delicious!

Wordle is just about the coolest online toy there is. I love it! With just a little bit of lens flare and plastic wrap, I made a pretty cool wallpaper. I need to clean the right side out for a few more icons, but I’ll leave that for a later date.

Just a little lens flare and platic wrap.
