Brandi Carlile and Jaime Cullum played at the Ogden last Friday. I was in the middle of moving but took time out to go to the show.

Brandi Carlile opened the show. I can’t really put a “she sounds like” tag on her, except for one song where I could have sworn it was Janis Joplin on the stage. Even then, that’s not a one-to-one comparison. She is unique. The band was tight, hooks in all the right places. She really should have been headlining the show.

Next up was Jaime Cullum. He did a Radiohead cover and beat on some drums. ‘Nuff said.
